Jocelyn DeGroot (Ph.D., Ohio University) is a professor in the Applied Communication Studies department at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Her research currently focuses on diverse types of losses, the role of mediated communication in relationships, and challenging aspects of motherhood. Josie’s research can be found in OMEGA: Journal of Death & Dying, Death Studies, and the Journal of Loss & Trauma, among others.
